  1. Drop your PDF into the box above, or click to choose it.
  2. Pick a compression level. Balanced suits most files; Strong gives the smallest file.
  3. Click Compress PDF. You'll see how much smaller the file got, then download it.

Common questions

How much smaller will my PDF get?

It depends on what's inside. Scans and photo-heavy PDFs often shrink by more than half. PDFs that are mostly text are usually small already, so they shrink less.

Will the text look worse?

No. Only images inside the PDF are compressed. Text, lines and vector graphics stay exactly as sharp.

Which level should I choose?

Balanced works for most files and keeps images looking good. Use Strong when you need to get under an email or upload limit, and Light when image quality matters most.

Why is my file the same size?

Some PDFs are already well optimized. If Filekin can't make yours smaller, it tells you and gives you back the original rather than a bigger file.

Is it safe to compress confidential documents?

Your file is processed on our server and deleted as soon as your download has been sent. We don't keep, read or share it.
