Terms of use

These terms cover every tool on filekin.io ("Filekin," "we," "us"), now and in the future. By using Filekin you agree to them. We've kept them short and plain.

Using the tools

• Filekin's tools are free to use for personal and business purposes, with no account needed.
• You may not build your own commercial service on top of Filekin, for example by reselling it or passing your customers' files through it as part of a paid offering. If you need that, contact us about an API.
• You have no right to any particular tool being available at any given moment. If a tool can't process your file, for example because a server is busy or a feature is down, we simply don't process it.

Your files

• When you use a tool, your file is uploaded to our server, processed there, and returned to you. The copy on our server is deleted as soon as your download has been sent, or right away if processing fails.
• You keep all rights to the files you upload and the files you download. We claim no ownership of them.
• You must have the right to use every file you upload, and using it with Filekin must not infringe anyone else's rights, such as copyright or privacy. We don't check files, so this is your responsibility.

Sensitive and important documents

You alone are responsible for meeting any legal, professional or contractual duties that apply to your documents. This matters especially if you process:

• Medical records, insurance letters, prescriptions or other health documents.
• Documents covered by confidentiality or professional secrecy, such as attorney-client or financial records.
• Documents you are legally required to archive, or that you plan to use as legal or contractual evidence.

We can't accept responsibility for whether using Filekin meets those duties.

What's not allowed

• Uploading anything illegal, or content that is hateful, harassing or sexually exploitative.
• Uploading malware, or trying to attack, overload, probe or disrupt the service.
• Using scripts, bots or other automated means to run the tools. Filekin is for people using a browser.
• Embedding Filekin's tools in another website, framing its pages, or presenting them as your own, unless we've agreed to it in writing.

We may block or limit access for anyone who breaks these rules or puts the service at risk for others, without notice.

Changes to the tools, and price

Because the tools are free, we may add, change, limit or remove any tool or feature at any time, and we're not obliged to update or improve them. The tools that are free today are meant to stay free. If we add paid features later, they will be optional extras with their own terms.

No guarantees

Filekin is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including that it will be accurate, reliable, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. Conversions can change formatting or fail on unusual files. Check every result before you rely on it, and always keep your original files. Using any file Filekin produces is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Filekin isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in question, which for the free tools is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Our content

Filekin's name, logo, design, text and code belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view the site in your browser, but you may not copy, republish or reuse its content without our permission.

Links to other websites

Filekin may link to other websites. We don't control their content and aren't responsible for it. If we learn that a linked page breaks the law, we'll remove the link.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Filekin after a change, you accept the new terms.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
