Privacy policy

Last updated October 19, 2026

Filekin is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no record of who uses which tool. Your files are deleted the moment you've downloaded the result. This page explains exactly what happens to your data, and the few places where other companies are involved.

Who is responsible

Filekin (filekin.io) is responsible for the processing described here. For anything about privacy, email [email protected].

Your files

If you use Filekin for business and your documents contain other people's personal data, you may need a data processing agreement with us. Email us and we'll work one out with you.

What we don't collect

The one thing we keep briefly

To stop a single visitor from overloading the service, we count how many jobs each IP address runs in a 10-minute window. The count lives only in the server's memory, is never written to disk, and disappears after 10 minutes, or whenever the server restarts.

Services we rely on

Cookies

Filekin itself sets no cookies. The cookies you may see come from Cloudflare (security) and Google (ads).

If you email us

If you write to us, we keep your email and our reply only as long as we need them to answer you and follow up. We don't add you to any list or share your email with anyone.

Legal basis (visitors in the EU and UK)

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in Europe and privacy laws in California and other US states, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or limit its use, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Because we don't keep files, logs or accounts, we usually hold no data about you at all, but you can always email [email protected] to ask. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

We don't sell your personal information.

Children

Filekin isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change how Filekin handles data, for example by adding a new service, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
