Common questions
Can I edit the text afterwards?
Yes. Filekin rebuilds real paragraphs, headings, lists and tables rather than placing text in fixed boxes, so you can edit, retype and reflow the document like any other Word file.
Will it look the same as the PDF?
Close. Headings, bold and italic text, font sizes, tables, pictures and centered titles carry over. Very designed layouts like brochures and multi-column newsletters come out as a single clean column of text in reading order, which is easier to edit.
What about scanned PDFs?
A scan is a picture of the page, so there's no text to rebuild yet. Filekin tells you when a PDF looks scanned. If only some pages are scanned, those pages are kept as pictures in the Word file. Text recognition (OCR) is on the way.
Can I convert many PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 300 PDFs, up to 1 GB in total. Big batches are sent in rounds, so keep the page open until it's done. You get one zip with every Word document.
Is there a size limit?
Each PDF can be up to 90 MB and 300 pages.
