Every feature on every plan, the free one included. DATEV export, payment reminders, recurring invoices, quotes, cancellations, access for your accountant and the API are never kept for a higher tier. You only pay for volume: how many invoices and API calls a month, and how much storage.

What you get

Make invoices fast

  • One at a time or thousands at once. A form that fills itself in from your saved customers and products, or an Excel or CSV file, or an export from your shop (Shopify and others) uploaded as it is. Every row is checked before anything is made.
  • XRechnung, ZUGFeRD and Factur-X, each checked against the official EN 16931, XRechnung and Factur-X rules before you get it. Invoices in German, French or English.
  • Your details, saved. Company, bank account, customers, products and numbering are remembered; each invoice number is used only once.
  • Your logo on every invoice, quote and reminder.
  • Recurring invoices for retainers and subscriptions: monthly, quarterly or yearly, made on their date.
  • Quotes with their own numbering, turned into the invoice in one click when they're accepted.

Every real-life case

  • Discounts and surcharges per line or on the whole invoice, split across VAT rates to the cent; shipping and packaging as surcharges.
  • Early-payment discounts (Skonto), printed with the date and amount and coded so German accounting software applies them automatically.
  • Down-payment and final invoices. The final invoice deducts each down payment with its net amount and VAT, as the law asks.
  • Cancellations and corrections. A proper cancellation invoice referring to the original, then the corrected invoice, ready to edit.
  • The right VAT treatment for each customer: reverse charge and intra-EU supplies for EU businesses, exports, small-business exemption, and the French mandatory mentions.
  • Payments already made by card, online or in cash, so an invoice paid at checkout says so.

Get paid

  • Open and overdue at a glance. Mark invoices as paid, search and filter, and see what's still owed.
  • Payment reminders for overdue invoices: a polite first reminder, then firmer ones, as PDF letters you send yourself.
  • Your invoices kept (encrypted) so you can download any of them again, for as long as you choose.

Work with your accountant and team

  • DATEV export for a month, a quarter or the year (SKR03 or SKR04), plus a ZIP package with every invoice and a list, ready for your tax adviser.
  • Access for your accountant or team. Give up to 10 people access with their own sign-in; only you can change bank details or the plan.
  • Several companies under one sign-in, each with its own details, numbering and plan.
  • An API to create and validate e-invoices from your own software, with plain-language explanations of every error. Read the API documentation.
  • Bulk accessibility checks for many PDFs at once, with a report as a spreadsheet.

How billing works

Questions

What's the catch with the free Developer plan?

None. It's there so small businesses and developers can use Filekin for real before deciding. If you need more than 20 invoices or 100 API calls in a month, the tool tells you and you can choose a paid plan; nothing is ever charged without you choosing it.

Do the free tools stay free?

Yes. Every free tool stays free, with no account and no new limits. Filekin for Business is only for people who want bulk work, saved details or the API.

Where is my data kept?

On Filekin's server in a Hetzner data center in the European Union, with an encrypted backup each night. Your saved details and the copies of your invoices are encrypted. You can download all your data, or delete your account and everything in it, from your account page at any time. See the privacy policy.

Are the invoices legally valid?

Each invoice is checked against the official rules before you get it: EN 16931, plus the XRechnung rules from KoSIT for Germany, or the Factur-X rules for France and ZUGFeRD. Filekin is a software tool that formats information you already have; it isn't an accounting or tax service. It uses your data as you give it, and its suggestions, such as VAT rates or reverse charge for a customer in another EU country, come from fixed formulas and public rules, not tax advice: you check every invoice before it's made, and what it says remains your responsibility.

Do I still need to archive my invoices?

Yes. The law asks you to keep every invoice, in its original form (the XML or the ZUGFeRD / Factur-X PDF), for 8 years in Germany and 10 in France. The copies Filekin keeps (for up to a year) are there so you can download an invoice again; they aren't a legal archive. Download your invoices, for example each month as one ZIP, and keep them with your accounts, or send them to your accountant.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

You can cancel at any time at link.com (the link is in your receipt), or by writing to us. To switch plans, email us and we'll move you over without a second subscription.
