Why it happens
XRechnung requires the buyer's electronic address (BT-49), usually an email address, and it's missing.
How to fix it
Add the customer's invoice email address as the buyer's electronic address (scheme EM).
Applies to
XRechnung (taken over from the Peppol rules).
More about PEPPOL-EN16931-R010
XRechnung requires the buyer's electronic address, the address the invoice is delivered to electronically. Like the seller's, it carries a scheme saying what kind of address it is.
For German public bodies this is usually their Leitweg-ID with scheme 0204, the same code as in the buyer reference. For businesses it's typically the email address they gave for invoices (scheme EM), or their Peppol ID if they receive invoices through Peppol. If you're unsure, ask the customer which address they receive e-invoices at.
