More about BR-DE-4
XRechnung requires the seller's post code, which the European standard leaves optional. It's needed for the full address that German law requires on invoices, and public bodies use it when matching the invoice to the supplier in their records.
Write only the code itself, such as 10115 for Berlin or 1010 for Vienna, without a country prefix like "D-". Some countries have no post codes, but for a German seller it's always required.
The fields involved
- BT-38 Seller post code
- CII
ram:SellerTradeParty/ram:PostalTradeAddress/ ram:PostcodeCode - UBL
cac:AccountingSupplierParty/cac:Party/ cac:PostalAddress/ cbc:PostalZone
Typical situations
- The post code was typed into the city field, such as "10115 Berlin".
- The post code field was skipped because the software treats it as optional.
Example
The seller's post code in CII:
<ram:PostalTradeAddress>
<ram:PostcodeCode>10115</ram:PostcodeCode>
...
<ram:CityName>Berlin</ram:CityName>
<ram:CountryID>DE</ram:CountryID>
</ram:PostalTradeAddress>
