The rule's official wording (CEN / KoSIT). The German XRechnung rules are published in German.
Why it happens

How to fix it
Add an email address the customer can write to about the invoice.
Applies to
XRechnung only (German rules by KoSIT).
More about BR-DE-7
XRechnung requires an email address for the seller contact. It's the address the buyer writes to about this invoice, for example if it's rejected or a detail is missing, so use a mailbox someone actually reads.
Don't confuse it with the seller's electronic address (BT-34, checked by PEPPOL-EN16931-R020). That one is for sending invoices electronically and often holds the same email address, but the two are separate fields and XRechnung requires both.
The fields involved
- BT-43 Seller contact email address
- CII
ram:DefinedTradeContact/ram:EmailURIUniversalCommunication/ ram:URIID - UBL
cac:Contact/cbc:ElectronicMail
Typical situations
- The email was entered as the electronic address only, not for the contact.
- The contact was created with name and phone, but no email.
Example
The contact email in CII:
<ram:EmailURIUniversalCommunication>
<ram:URIID>[email protected]</ram:URIID>
</ram:EmailURIUniversalCommunication>
