BR-DE-3 XRechnung: seller city missing
XRechnung requires the seller's city.
What the rule says
Das Element "Seller city" (BT-37) muss übermittelt werden.
The rule's official wording (CEN / KoSIT). The German XRechnung rules are published in German.
Why it happens
The seller's address has no city (BT-37).
How to fix it
Add your city to your company address.
Applies to
XRechnung only (German rules by KoSIT).
More about BR-DE-3
The European standard only requires the country in the seller's address. XRechnung goes further and requires the city too, because public bodies check the seller's address against their supplier records and need it for the legally required invoice details.
Write the city name on its own, such as "Berlin". Don't put the post code in this field; it has its own field, which XRechnung also requires (BR-DE-4). A district or PO box goes in the extra address lines, not here.
The fields involved
- BT-37 Seller city
- CII
ram:SellerTradeParty/ram:PostalTradeAddress/ ram:CityName - UBL
cac:AccountingSupplierParty/cac:Party/ cac:PostalAddress/ cbc:CityName
Typical situations
- Post code and city were typed together into the street line.
- The address was imported in a single field and only the street came across.
Example
The seller's city in CII:
<ram:PostalTradeAddress>
<ram:PostcodeCode>10115</ram:PostcodeCode>
<ram:LineOne>Musterstraße 1</ram:LineOne>
<ram:CityName>Berlin</ram:CityName>
<ram:CountryID>DE</ram:CountryID>
</ram:PostalTradeAddress>
